Charlie has a thing for enclosed places. He loves to get his blanket and snuggle down in a box or bucket or even on the floor inside his little playhouse.

We got him this swing for Christmas and Matt just got around to hanging it in the kid's room (being laid off has it's benefits!). Charlie LOVES it! He loves swinging and loves being all closed in so this swing is pretty much his dream come true. It couldn't have come at a better time because he's had a tough couple of weeks and it really soothes him to get in the swing and feel safe and cozy.

He loves getting in this bucket and drinking his medicine laced juice. (please pretend he isn't STILL using a bottle. Thanks)

He also likes to relax in this little plastic bin.
One of the only times we can get Charlie to hold still is when we lightly scratch his body. He completely freezes and gets little goose bumps all over his body.

He likes having his arms scratched so much that he will rotate them around to make sure you don't miss any spots. The cutest thing is when you do it to his tummy...every time we do it, his mouth will drop wide open and stay open until you stop.

He loves his daddy. He was so tired here and ready for bed but we couldn't put him down until he finished drinking the medicine in his bottle. He fell asleep leaning against Matt. So sweet.
Charlie loves to roughhouse with anyone who is willing. Good thing he has a big brother and Papa who enjoy it almost as much as him.
It's been a rocky road but we sure love this little guy and he's worth every bump!

That swing is AWESOME...as is your yummy green wall color might I add!
Ive been meaning to tell you that you should move to CA. Not just for all the In-n-outs but my nephew just got diagnosed with Autism and the state pays for EVERYTHING. He will be getting 8 hours of intense therapy (for now), most of it at their own home. As if thats not great enough they also pay for a special trained babysitter to come for 4 hours once a week so the parents can have a date!
It is the highest taxed state though so I guess it has its downsides too!
That's interesting about how he likes to be scratched everywhere. One of the therapies we used with my nephew who has SPD is "brushing" him down several times a day with a corn brush. It is soothing and helped him become accustomed to things against his skin (like clothes, lol). He likes to rough-house, too. He'll just randomly plow me over (hard!) while I'm making dinner. He is a handful which is why I moved to my sister's a few years ago... to help her out.
The senses can be so overwhelming to these little ones, but they have soooo much personality. I can totally understand why you adore Charlie. He is so cute. He's lucky to have a family that cares so much about him. :) We seriously need to get together next time I'm in town.
Unfortunately I don't have advice for you but the boys look so great! You guys are such good parents and we are in awe of your stamina and commitment. I really hope some help arrives soon from the state. Such a precious little boy...keep up the good work!
Adorable post Steff. We miss you guys!
What awesome pics of your boys! What great parents you are--epitome of patience and love. I love doing the light scratching on kids, but mine are all too big now. So call me and I'll come and scratch while you grocery shop!
Charlie is such a cute boy!! And it's fun to know some of the things he loves. There is no judgement on the bottle thing. Ask me some time about when Kyle STARTED using a binky at 14 months and used it for 2 years... Oh, well.
Such cute pictures. I love that Charlie likes to "chill" in containers and his new swing! Love the picture of Charlie and Winston. It was good chatting with you for a minute today.
